Three Days / Three Quotes Challenge
Day 2
I believe very deeply that compassion must be one of the guiding principles of my life. Meeting others with a non-judgmental tenderness is probably the most meaningful gift you can give. It’s valuable not only in my personal life but also in my professional life; colleagues relinquish their defensive edge in the face of compassion.
Finding compassion for yourself can be ever so difficult, but it’s the only path to healing. I frequently wander off that path and get lost again in the woods, but in the end, I come back. I know it’s the path that will lead me to myself.

Here’s the rules of the Three Days / Three Quotes Challenge that lettersnevermeanttobedelivered sent my way this weekend (thank you again):
Thank the blogger who nominated you.
Share one new quote on three consecutive days on your blog. They can be from anywhere, anyone, or anything.
On each of the three days, nominate three more bloggers to carry on with the quotes.
Three new nominees today, three bloggers (three of many) who cherish and champion compassion. Again, nominees, no pressure; don’t feel you need to participate if you don’t feel like finding or writing about quotes.
I’m a big fan of compassion! I’m glad to know there are more compassion fans out there 🙂 I agree…extending the same kind of compassion to myself is a daily struggle for me but it’s getting better and I realize that I won’t have any compassion left for others if I don’t treat myself the same way. Thanks for sharing this 🙂

Very nice quote. Compassion? Now I find it hard to be compassionate to myself, but I’m working on that. XX

I find compassion for self a journey. It comes and goes for me, yet whenever my compassion has deserted me, when it DOES return it’s stronger than before. I have decades of rust on me; built up defensive iron shields that did their job in the day but are now just in my way. Tearing down those old shields is hard and painful. I sweat, I bleed. I don’t like the way I smell when I take them down. But afterwards, there’s new flow, a new perspective to see. The horizon opens up a little bit more. Be well, and continue the journey. – from someone just a few steps ahead of you

Thank you, I’m honored! But with fall comes some extra challenges for me that I need to address and put my energies into.

Of course! Anyway, everyone’s blog should be about what they feel they want to write about.

I meant to go into each person’s blog and tell them but just haven’t had time this week. I’m glad you discovered it, and I’ll look forward to see what quotes you might come up with.

Whenever I see this quote, the second half always smacks me across the face. So much to work on there.
