The little girl spent many years in silence, so sometimes she can’t find words very easily. She is trying other ways for her to express herself, through images.

Sage Burning 
Hey girl, that doesn’t look like a very good place to be in your mind. I don’t know the exactness of it but I know it feels scary. It feels unsafe and unprotected. So I am coming to get you so we can play. Usually I play outside because it is safer. I never thought about that before but inside is unsafe. So, let’s go to the pool today and be carefree. Probably we haven’t been carefree in a very long time. The warmth of the sun and water on our feet. Floaty rafts and balls and splashing and I will race you across the pool.

Thank you for this. It really touched my heart in a way that is hard to describe. I have sat here a long time trying to find the right words to respond, but without success. All I can say is thank you. (And the pool sounds appealing.)
